Jayson and I have secured our donor!! We selected our donor on Monday, July 17th and it seemed like the longest week ever! By Friday, July 21st, we still hadn’t heard anything so I called the egg bank to see what the status was. Come to find out they were waiting on my clinic in Wichita to send them some demographic information. I contacted my nurse and she immediately sent it to them. By the end of the day, we had our donor secured. We were so relieved!
So now what happens?
Jayson and I have an appointment next week on August 7th, to meet with our doctors in Wichita. We will have a day full of lab work, going over paperwork, signing consent forms, and discussing our plan/schedule moving forward.
We won’t know the plan for sure until we meet with our clinic next week, however it sounds like we will start things towards the middle of August!
As we get closer it is becoming very surreal. We definitely have a lot of emotions we are dealing with. It has been a crazy journey for us so far and we pray that this is the answer to our prayers and this will finally give us our rainbow baby!
I was thinking the other day that when Jayson and I first started trying to get pregnant, there weren’t any kids on my side of the family yet. Since then my brother has had two adorable daughters and my sister is due any day now with her daughter. It just goes to show that no matter what someone is going through, life doesn’t slow down, it keeps going and we have to learn to ride the waves and enjoy all the beautiful things going on around us at the same time.
While it has been hard to remain patient over these last four years, I can’t help but be so appreciative for all Jayson and I are blessed with. We have soon-to-be eight nieces/nephews and we are so incredibly blessed. We are praying that we can give them a new cousin very soon!
With love,
Haley
