Jayson and I went to Wichita on Monday for our doctor’s appointment. We had some lab work completed, went over paperwork that we had to sign, and then discussed our schedule for moving forward.
We were originally hoping that things would all happen in August, however due to the timing after we selected our donor, etc., it would have been rushing everything time wise. This entire process is stressful enough, we didn’t want to add extra stress to the situation.
With that being said, I will take my last birth control pill on Monday, August 28th and then I will start estrogen on Thursday, August 31st to help prepare my body.
I will be on those for about 2 weeks and then we will go to Kansas City on September 14th for the thaw and fertilization of the eggs.
The embryos will grow in the lab for 5 days and Jayson and I will go back to Kansas City on September 19th for the transfer.
My body will go through numerous hormonal changes, so please pray for Jayson that he has the patience to put up with me during this time. Ha ha!
It seems like things were moving quickly once we got access to the donor website and selected our donor. Now it feels like we are back down to a slow waiting pace. I was pretty disappointed at first when I found out that things weren’t going to happen in August, because let’s be honest, I’m ready to get this show on the road. However I know that I’m not the one in control and my timeline is not the same as the man upstairs. So, I will be patient and enjoy this month while we wait and trust in God’s timing.
While we wait, I will continue to pray what I have been praying for Jayson and I for over four years.
