Today I am officially 34 weeks pregnant and 6 days. Time is going so fast!
Last week on Tuesday I went in for my scheduled checkup. My doctor was out of town on vacation so I had my appointment scheduled with the midwife. When she took my blood pressure she seemed concerned, of course which made me concerned. When she retook it, it was naturally higher because I was stressing out at that point. She went and spoke to one of the doctors and they decided to send me to the hospital to be monitored. I ended up having a 2 night, 3 day stay. They weren’t quite sure what was going on because my blood pressure was all over the place. One minute it would be normal and the next minute it would spike up. They joked that I had white coat syndrome because every time a doctor came in, my blood pressure would increase. I really do think I have this just due to our history. Thankfully my urine and lab results all came back normal. They told us Wednesday night that they were going to give me some blood pressure medicine and if they couldn’t get my blood pressure to stay consistent through the night, we were looking at having the girls the following morning. They had given me a steroid shot on both Tuesday night and Wednesday night. This was just to help the girls with their lung development in case we did have to have them on Thursday morning. Thankfully my blood pressure stabilized and I was released from the hospital on Thursday afternoon. The doctor put me on bed rest. I had a followup appointment with my doctor yesterday morning and he has kept me on bed rest and I will go to the hospital twice a week for non stress test to keep an eye on the girls as well as myself. He told me the goal is to keep me pregnant between 36 and 38 weeks, however it will just depend on my blood pressure. So we ask for prayers that the girls can stay put for awhile longer to help them continue to develop before they are born.
As for our nursery, we finally have everything done!
When I found the cribs they were majorly on sale. When you have to buy two cribs you jump on a big discount. The problem was that I think they were being discontinued because the matching dresser was nowhere to be found. So, I took Jayson’s old dresser from when he was a kid, painted it and put on new hardware. I really love the way it turned out!
The saying on the shelf was made for Jayson and I by four of his students. It was incredibly sweet and thoughtful of them!
The bedding and their names above the dresser was made by Meghan Broxterman. She owns her own little shop called Owl Hoots. She makes all sorts of adorable things and I highly suggest checking her out on Facebook or her website. She does a fantastic job, is affordable and you’re able to get exactly what you want!
Thank you for continued prayers for the girls and Jayson and I while we wait for their arrival. Please say prayers that I can keep my sanity during this bed rest and that the girls can stay put as long as possible. We appreciate you all!
With Love,
Haley
